Action against LPG marketing Cos decided

 The ministry of petroleum and OGRA have decided to take action against the LPG marketing companies.

The plants of the LPG marketing companies failing to reduce the price would be sealed and their quota would be cancelled.

According to the authorities of the ministry of petroleum a notification to reduce LPG price by Rs 27 a kilo due to the reduction in the international market was issued on July 5. However, except for 7 LPG marketing companies the other 84 companies did not reduce the price despite the notification issued by OGRA.

A joint investigation team to probe the matter is being formed on the direction of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. The investigation team comprise officials of the petroleum ministry as well as OGRA.

The investigation team would take action against the companies nvolved in profiteering.
