Pakistan's main stock market closed down on Friday and on low volume on the back of reduced trading hours, dealers said.
The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark 100-share index dropped 26.88 points, or 0.18 percent, to close at 14,526.41 on volume of 44.85 million shares.
"Because of reduced working hours on Friday because of Ramadan, reduced activity was seen at the Karachi Stock Exchange," said Atif Zafar, a research analyst at JS Global financial services company.
In the currency market, the rupee closed almost flat at 94.52/59 to the dollar, compared with 94.54/59 on Thursday.
Overnight rates in the money market remained unchanged at 11.90 percent.
