The country continues reeling from severe power crisis as power shortfall remains unchanged at 6,000 megawatt.
According to NTDC sources the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 1 has become operational to help add 332 mw power to the system.
Unit 2 of Chashma Nuclear Power Plant would start working by this evening to add an additional 318 megawatt system to the electric grid. Power load shedding is expected to be reduced by this evening.
A couple of days ago a wind storm caused damaged to the 220 and 500 kv transmission towers of Muzaffargarh Power House. the supply of 870 megawatt of power supply was terminated due to the falling of the tower.
According to NTDC repair works on the fallen tower has begun after the completion of which an additional 370 mw would be added to the system.
Meanwhile, worst power load shedding continie in ucities and urban areas. Ten-hour load shedding in big cities and 16-18 hour load shedding in small cities and rural areas continue.
