Ruckus during Sindh Assembly session

Updated 7 hours ago
KARACHI: There was ruckus during the Sindh Assembly session when provincial Information Minister Shazia Marri and PML-F MPA Marvi Rashdi exchanged harsh words over a resolution presented by the latter.

Marvi Rashdi presented a resolution regarding orphans stating that the identity of those adopting them should be listed in a separate section.

The resolution was strongly opposed by Shazia Marri who said Rashdi could not even speak English properly.

Rashdi responded by criticizing Marri for wearing too much make-up.

Speaking to media outside the provincial assembly Rashdi said "All women apply make-up but she (Marri) does face painting to intimidate other MPAs."

Assembly Speaker Nisar Khoro expressed his anger over Marri’s remarks and cautioned her that she could not speak directly to any member.

Later, he expelled her remarks from the proceedings.
