ANP postpones March 23 rally in Karachi

Updated 1 hour ago
KARACHI: Awami National Party (ANP) has once again put off holding of its public meeting at Bagh-e-Quaid here, Geo News reported Tuesday.

In his address to a press conference here at Mardan House, President ANP Sindh and newly elected Senator Shahi Sayed strongly condemned the incident of firing at his welcome rally in Karachi on Monday and demanded of Chief Minister and Home Minister Sindh to take notice of it.

"Regard for peace must not be mistaken for weakness," he warned, adding the time for paying lip service was over and now practical steps would have to be taken.

He felicitated all the newly elected Senators, adding he did not want to engage in a fight with anyone.

The ANP Sindh President, citing busy schedule of the party's central leadership, postponed for a later date the ANP's public meeting scheduled to be held on March23.
