Rock star Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty has forgiven Chris Brown for physically assaulting her in 2009, saying "everybody deserves a second chance".
Brown left the Barbadian singer bruised and bloody after a brutal attack on her at the 2009 Grammys. He was convicted of assault, reported Mirror online.
But the couple were seen cosying up again at this year's music awards, and Rihanna has since been wearing Brown's self-designed hearts jacket in the US and at London Fashion Week events.
Fenty said he has given his blessing to them and that there would be no hard feelings when he next sees him.
"Chris made a mistake... a terrible one. But I'm a great believer that everybody deserves a second chance and Chris is no different.
"Everybody goes wrong in life at some point. I certainly have. But it is about how you come back and live your life which is important. And as long as she is happy then so am I. verybody has had their say about her and Chris but it is up to her to find her own way," he said.
