KHI: Lyari gang war member Rashid Rekha killed

Eight accused of the Lyari gang war were arrested while a top gangster, Rashid Rekha, was killed in a targeted operation, ARNY NEWS reported. The government of Sindh had recently withdrawn Rs 1 million head money on Rashid Rekha.

The unabated violence took 4 more lives and injured 6 more persons on Karachi.

Unidentified motorcyclists threw a hand grenade outside the house of a businessman at Khaban-e-Qasim Street 18 in Defence Phase 8. The grenade did not explode. Police say that the attack may be extortion-related. A grenade attack took place at the factory of the trader earlier.

House of a ANP's local leader Mohammad Din Shah was cracker-attacked by motorcyclists near Khyber Chowk in Baldia Ittehad Town. There was no casualty. Police said that a month earlier an attempt was made to target Mohammad Din Shah in a bomb blast.

Unidentified armed men shot a person dead in Ramswami area of Garden. The incident caused immense panic and businesses were closed in the area.

Another person was shot dead in Machhar Colony, Mauripur Road.

Two persons became victims of bullets in Scahal and Tariq Road areas.

Six people were injured in firing incidents in Landhi, Mangophir, Lyari and Kharadar areas.

Meanwhile, armed exchange between two groups in Kharadar caused immense panic in teh area which forced the businesses to shut down and the two groups continue exchanging the gun fire which has injured five persons so far. The police and the Rangers have not entered the area due to which tension continues.
