The protest rally against sacrilegious movie called by Sunni Tehreek and other religious parties including Sunni Ittihiad Council has begun from Mazar e Quaid which will end at Tibet Center. Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion.
Several prominent religious leaders including Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman are leading the protest rally.
Sunni Tehreek spokesperson Faheemuddin Sheikh while talking to ARY News said that Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has granted permission for the rally.
Earlier, during a press conference Sunni Tehreek leaders Shakeel Qadri, Mufti Rehan Amjad Nomani, Shabbir Abu Talib and others said that staging a peaceful protest was their right and rally will be taken out at any cost.
Earlier, Sindh Home Department banned all kind of rallies in Karachi for three days. The home department stated that strict action would be taken against the violators.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon appealed ulema to support government.
