General elections to be held on time, says Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari directed Adviser to Prime Minister for Internal Affairs Abdur Rehman Malik improve law and order situation in the month of Ramazan, adding that also make intelligence system affective in the country.

President Zardari made these direction to Malik during a meeting in Karachi on Tuesday. General elections would be held on time, President Zardari stated.

The president also directed Malik to make consultation with all stake holders for into law and order situation in the country.

He, moreover, directed the adviser to hold talks with all stake holders and remove their concerns.

The President was also briefed about umcoming monsoon rains, measures to save Thatta from inundating and Zulfiqarabad.

President Zardari also chaired a meeting on energy crisis in Bilawal House Karachi. Federal Minister for Water and Power Ahmed Mukhtar briefed President Zardari about the situation.

President directed Mukhtar to ensure provision of furnace oil to power houses.

Zulfiqarabad project was also come under discussion in the meeting. The project was a property of Government of Sindh.

The meeting was told that opponents of the project want to show off their political game over the issue. It was decided in the meeting the all reservations of the opponents would be removed in this regard.

Earlier, Federal Adviser Malik and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah held separate meetings with President Zardari. They briefed over all political and law and order situation in the country and the province.

Malik also told the President about yesterday's attack on a military camp in Gujrat.

President directed to set up police and rangers check-post in sensitive areas of Karachi. He also ordered to install scanner at entry and exit points of the metropolis
