Kohistan case: 2 of the 5 girls alive

 Two of the five girls ordered murdered by a cleric have been found alive.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the Attorney General and the Advocate General to make arrangements for the women representatives of human rights organizations to meet the girls.

Women representatives of human rights organizations who visited Kohistan with delegations including Farzana Bari, Fouzia Saeed, Riffat Butt and Shumaila Advocate appeared before the three-member bench of the Supreme Court which is hearing the suo moto case.

They informed the court that they have met two of the five girls, namely Amna and Shaheen, who are alive ans well. The two girls also told the women HR activists that the remaining three girls were also OK.

When Chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary asked the women representatives if they were satisfied, they replied yes they were.

They also told the court that the video broadcast by the media is over year old and it was not of a wedding ceremony.

The CJP directed the Registrar of Peshawar High Court to make sure that Additional Session Judge Swabi Munira Abbasi is a part of the delegation which would meet the remaining three girls.
