Protesting over the addition of new taxes of nine rupees, CNG stations honours have announced countrywide strike from June 6.

The decision was taken into a meeting of All Pakistan CNG Association on Saturday. The meeting decided that CNG filling pumps would remain closed for unidentified time period from the decided date.

According to a representative of the association, Majid Ansari, government was trying to destroy CNG industry intentionally. He added that they could not bear the burden of further taxes because when Pakistan People's Party came into power in 2008, CNG was Rs28 per kilogram which is now Rs80 per kg.

Ansari further said that after application of new taxes CNG would be Rs90 per kg.
