Dangerous Ishhq has released and while director Vikram Bhatt had the added responsibility of bringing Karisma Kapoor back on the silver scene as well, he also placed her in the bygone era by setting one episode of the film in the 40s (during partition). Not just that as there are quite a few other costume jumps that Karisma has taken in the film as she traverses centuries in the dramatic romantic thriller.
"Karisma has slipped into various attires from the Mughal, Meerabai and Partition era amongst others. While she has also boasted of contemporary look, there were costumes specially designed for other looks from the era gone by. The pleasure was all mine because when you have Karisma in your film and that too in characters belonging to various time zones, you want to make the most out of it", says Vikram Bhatt.
This is pretty much the case for Kunal Kohli as well who is telling a love story three times over in Teri Meri Kahaani by setting the film in 1910, 1960 and 2012. While Priyanka Chopra would be boasting of a contemporary look as well as one from the past, there is this special 60s feel in the middle episode of it all well, the look of which has already been revealed.
"This would be an altogether new avatar for Priyanka as well since she has played a desi girl but never someone belonging to an era gone by", comments an industry veteran, "It is good to see her in this attire since she has the kind of pencil thin figure to carry off such costumes. Actresses like Asha Parekh, Sadhana, Sharmila Tagore, Babita and Nanda had excelled in this look during the 60s and Priyanka is bringing back the same style."
Now one hopes that the magic is indeed recreated in entirety when the actress is seen on the big screen in this new avatar.
