Sohrab Goth turned into a battle field on Sunday after an armed clash between two rival groups. At least four people including a reporter of a private new channel and a driver of Edhi Ambulance were injured in the gun-battle while Rangers and police were remained hapless to control the situation.
At least nine people have been gunned down in Karachi violence on Sunday.
Law enforcing agencies conducted a targeted operation in different areas of Sohrab Goth and arrested two suspects. They also recovered weapons from their possession.
Residents of Sohrab Goth besieged in their houses after the gun-battle reverberated the area. The shootout also caused to huge traffic jam.
In the fresh shooting incident, three members of a family were shot dead near Islam Chowk area of Orangi Town Sector 11-1/2.
The victims were identified as Jarrar and his two sons Gulzar and Sajjad.
Fear and panic gripped the area after the incident and people shut their business after the tension.
Four people were injured in a shoot out between two armed groups near Edhi Center, Sohrab Goth. A reporter of a private news channel was also among the injured.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Meanwhile heavy contingent of police and rangers have been called in the tense area to control the situation.
According to police, unidentified gunmen shot dead Ajmal Jan in Metrovelle, while a bullet-riddled bodies were found from Sarafa Bazaar area of Mithadar.
In Liaquabad, unknown armed men shot and killed two people. One of the victim was identified as Asad Raza while several other people got injuries in the firing incident.
Another man was gunned down beneath Banaras Bridge. The man was identified as Bhawani.
Meanwhile, on Saturday 20 people were killed in ceaseless shooting incidents including a police officer and a representative of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat.
Target killing continue unabated in Karachi , but police officers of all DIGs of East and West Zones and SPs of all towns are enjoying their holiday at homes.
