Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) peace march led by Imran Khan received warm reception as it reached to Talagang and flower petals showered at the motorcade and smaller rallies merged into the march towards South Waziristan tribal region on Saturday.
The march earlier reached Balkasar Interchange where PTI chief addressed the rally.
Earlier, Central leaders of PTI gathered at Margalla hotel in Islamabad before beginning of the march. The newsmen of the national and foreign media also accompanied with the march from the central secretariat of PTI.
Responding to a question regarding security threats to his march, Imran Khan said that if someone tries to stop them, they will stop. Khan was addressing a gathering at Islamabad Toll Plaza before leaving Islamabad.
The motorcade will drive across Talagang, Chakwal, Kundian, Mianwali, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan and finally enter Waziristan.
The march will enter in Dera Ismail Khan this evening and the participants after night stay will proceed to South Waziristan.
The government has stepped up security in Dera Ismail Khan due to expected night stay of the march in the city.
According to sources, the Tank administration has set up containers at routes leading to South Waziristan.
Emergency was imposed in Tank and police holidays were recalled for dealing with the march.
A meeting of the PTI FATA chapter was held in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) where Chief Coordinatior DI Khan Malik Abdul Qayyum Khan condemned the government for blocking routes to stop people from Wana joining the march.
He said that the government had blocked routes between Tank and Pezo and had set up containers from DI Khan to Tank and at Manzai to stop the peace march from continuing past Tank.
