Expressing dis-satisfaction at the performance of welfare attaches posted overseas the Standing Committee for Human Resource Development in the National Assembly has called for list of welfare attaches.
The meeting of the Committee chaired by Shagufta Jumani was informed that 700,000 would be sent for overseas employment this year. The Immigration and Overseas Employment Bureau briefed the Committee that during the last six years 2,283,000 Pakistani were sent overseas for employment.
Secretary Human Resource Development told the Committee that programs for awareness about laws in foreign countries are being made.
The Committee members said that the appointments of welfare attaches are based on political considerations and that explains why they indulge in luxuries instead of serving Pakistani community overseas.
