ISLAMABAD: Babar Awan on Monday filed another application in the Supreme Court, seeking his unconditional apology from the apex court over his derogatory remarks.
"I express regret over my comments I passed during a media talk and unconditionally apologize for uttering the remarks which led to cancellation of my license for the law practice," said Awan's application filed in the court on behalf of Raja Abdul Ghafoor Advocate-on-Record.
Babar said, whatever he had stated in the press talk was unintentional, based on inadvertence and the applicant is offering unconditional apology, for his utterances that have been found prima facie to be disrespectful by the court.
"I don't want any defense lawyer in my case, my apology be accepted," Babar stated.
Awan prayed the court that his license be restored as it was the only source of income for him.
He said that the petitioner is a professional regular practicing lawyer and, therefore, has no other source of livelihood which is fundamental right of the petitioner who stands suspended ever since passage of the order on January 17,2012.
He said that due to temporary suspension of the petitioner's license a significant number of litigants who engaged the petitioner over a period of years are suffering irreparable loss and also his staff are facing hardship.
It is pertinent to mention here that,Awan had already tendered an apology to the court in April,However, the SC bench has yet to decide if it is to admit Awan's plea for apology. (APP)
