Fourteen more killed in Karachi

Ceaseless shooting incidents in Karachi have been out of control as 14 more people fell prey to target killing in the metropolis on Saturday. Several others also sustained injuries in different shooting incidents.

According to media count, eight people have been gunned down within an hour.

In the latest shooting incident, unidentified gunmen riding several bikes restored straight firing at a hotel in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 2, killing five people and injuring six others, a police officer confirmed the incident.

DIG East Shahid Hayat said that unknown gunmen riding bikes restored firing and killed four in the incident while three others.

Shahid Hayat said that the victims were having tea at the hotel when the incident took place.

The DIG said that identities of the corpses and injured were yet to be ascertained.

SSP Asim, however, said that five people were gunned down in the incident while six others sustained injuries in the shootout.


The bodies and injured were rushed to several hospital for medical formalities.

Earlier, two people were gunned down near Saifi College in North Nazimabad.

A man namely, Ali Akther, was killed within the limits of Ibrahim Haidri police station. Riots sparked in the areas after Akther's death and mob torched hand-cart and cabin in the area.

Heavy contingent of police deployed in the area after the incident.

A man was shot dead and another injured when they offered resistance during dacoity in Korangi No 6.

Meanwhile, four people were gunned down in Rakser Line area of Old Golimar.
