1920 Evil Returns devours Chicken Khurana

Updated :   Saturday  November  10 , 2012  5:00:52 PM

It was one of those rare Fridays when there were no major films listed for release. Yes, there were still a few animation and dubbed films and just one Hindi film, It's Rocking Dard-e-Disco, featuring evergreen composer Bappi Lahiri, Asrani etc which released this Friday to a poor response.

The reason for the above is naturally the mid-week release (Tuesday, 13th November to be precise) of two Diwali blockbusters Ajay Devgn Film's Son Of Sardar and Yash Raj's Jab Tak Hia Jaan which are now the main focus of attention of the film going audience which is now awaiting to witness the two big guns of Hindi cinema clash on this festive Diwali period.

Coming to last week's releases, Vikram Bhatt's horror flick, 1920 - Evil Returns, is on way to a clean hit as it has already netted close to 19 crore (to be validated) which is just superb considering its total landing cost of 8-9 crore.

The other release of the week, Anurag Kashyap's Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana could not make a mark except in parts of North and could only manage around 7.75 crores.

As a parting note, all eyes (including ours!) are on the Diwali clash between Son of Sardar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. While there are contradicting predictions about the outcome (depending on which side of the fence one is), we wish the best to both the films.
