The Khyber Pakhtwankhwa Assembly has approved a resolution with consensus to give representation to people in tribal areas in the provincial assembly and to establish a proper judicial system in the tribal areas.
The resolution was moved by provincial law minister Arshad Abdullah in the KPK Assembly presided over by Deputy Speaker Khusdil Khan.
The resolution demanded the federal government to treat the people in tribal areas at par with other citizens of the country. The Section 7 of Artile 147 of the Constitution should be deleted to extend the authority of Supreme Court and High Courts to the tribal areas.
The Resolution also demands the federal government to abolish FCR Tribunals in tribal areas and to replace it with a proper judicial system. It also demanded to give representation to people in tribal areas with their advice.
The session of the KPK Assembly was later adjourned till tomorrow.
