Protesting NCHD staffers face police brutalities once again

Updated 1 hour ago

KARACHI: Sindh police have once again baton-charged, teargassed, and water-cannoned the protesting employees of the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC), Geo News reported Monday.
It has been around a month and a half since the NCHD staffers have been sitting-in next to the maingate of KPC on the road outide holding the images of Late Benazir Bhutto in their hands, but failed to turn any concerned "head" towards themselves thus far.
Desperate, they started marching towards the Chief Minister House on Saturday to lodge their grievances, but a contingent of riot police halted them in their tracks.
The hardboiled cops left no mode of brutality unused to hit the the already down protestors.
NCHD employees also tried to move the police by showering them with rose-petals but to no avail as this gesture proved tantamount to casting pearls before swine.
Going forward, barbed wires fenced up by the police did not let the protestor enter the red zone and there they were given the bamboo stick, the eye-burning gas as well as the cannon-water before they dispersed.
Moreover, police also made scores of arrests to fill their lockups.
