KABUL: The United States embassy in Kabul was in lockdown Sunday as explosions and gunfire rocked the capital, a spokesman said.
All staff were accounted for and safe, with no reports of injuries, spokesman Gavin Sundwall said.
Three areas of the capital, including the diplomatic enclave, came under coordinated assault in an attack claimed by Taliban insurgents. (AFP)
